How can I take better care of myself mentally, emotionally and physically?
Focus on happiness: Often we want to maximize the money we get, or success ratings at job, or something that is not in your hands. Focus on your happiness first. That is in your hands entirely. Write
down on a paper what is it that you want for you to be happy. Then go
after getting it. That will make you happiest even if you achieved only a
fraction of it. Your happiness can come from success, good diet, good
body, mind and soul, but whatever it is, know it.
Fix your ergonomics: If
your ergonomics are bad, no matter what you do, you would always have
recurring pain in your body. It could be muscles, joints, ligaments,
tendons or something. This is far less focused item at all the places I
observe.
Exercise: This helps you digest food better, and keeps your muscles stronger. IN addition, you can get better rest if you exercise.
Rest: One
of the things I observe is that people often do not spend enough on
their beds. You spend about a third of your life on your bed. Get the
best possible bed you can afford, and just don’t think about the money
it takes. A great sleep can help you spend a great day at work.
Unfortunately this is also poorly understood by a lot of people.
Diet: The
more diversified, healthy and balanced it is, the better off you are.
Often what happens in urban societies is that people work very hard in
offices, but they don’t get vitamin D, B, K and so on. Sometimes the
diet is lacking iron, and sometimes calcium. All these deficiencies add
up, and can make a person tired sooner.
Think and meditate: Many
people do not think enough. They have to work harder to make the same
impact. If you think enough, you can do smart work, and you would not
have to take tolls on your body. Sane applies for meditation.
Learn: To
keep growing in life, you have to keep learning. Learn great formulas,
learn fundamentals, learn great strategies, and apply them in the day to
day activities. Often people listen to all this, and look at the
suggestions, but they do not follow them.
Execute well: Here
is where the beast is. Learn to execute. Be disciplined about what you
want to do. Everything comes to you when you execute well. Ideas without
execution are nothing.
Inspire others: Here
is what I realized just after I started writing on Quora everyday. I
like to inspire others, and now I love it! Just to be able to tell
someone else to workout everyday, I always have to remind myself on a
daily basis, that first I should do it myself before I give suggestions
to others. And believe me or not, my routine has gotten far better since
the time I wanted to become a inspiring person. Now I don’t need
fitness buddies, I don’t need mentors. I am my own mentor, and I come to
Quora to inspire others.
Go On A Vacation
Going
on a vacation will boost your energy level and help you to start things
on a fresh note instead of just adding layers of boredom and
hopelessness to it. A change of surroundings will definitely bring a
change in outlook and make you feel good all over again.You need to take care of yourself everyday.
Water
This
has been stated so many times yet we forget it that we need to drink
water regularly because it hydrates the skin and eliminates toxins from
our body. Your body needs to sweat to regulate its temperature and
drinking water plays an important role in this.
